Also, it is very important that all families have the most up to date contact information listed in Infinite Campus. With new visitor protocols, our school staff relies on this information to ensure you are receiving all the up to date school and classroom information. It is also very important that we can reach you quickly if your student is sick or there is an emergency.
COVID DATA AND SYMPTOMS
In an effort to still track return to school dates for students, we would like you to continue to notify your student's school when they have symptoms, have tested positive or have been a close contact/household contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID.

ATTENDANCE
If your child is going to be absent or late for school for any reason, please contact the office at 920-424-0172. If we are unable to speak to us directly, you may leave a message on the voice mail system to report the absence. Please be specific when calling your child in. If it is an illness we do need to know all the symptoms the child is having as well as the best number to reach you at if we have any further questions. Absences are considered "unexcused" if we do not hear from a parent/guardian by 9 am. Students who are absent from school more than 10 minutes of any part of the day without a proper excuse shall be recorded as unexcused. A student who is absent less than 10 minutes of a day shall be recorded as tardy. The time a student enters or leaves the building will be documented, and the system will calculate the absence accordingly and uniformly across the district. Please keep this in mind as you schedule appointments for your children. It is always best to schedule appointments during non-school hours. Students are expected to be in class from 7:45 to 2:45 daily.
VISITOR PROTOCOLS
Please refer to Section 4.1 of the District Handbook above in regards to entering the school building. Parents will not be allowed to enter the school building for any reason, unless pre-approved by the building principal or designee. Parents needing to pick up their child during school hours will need to call the office at 920-424-0172 and then wait by Door 1 for the student to come out the front door. Parents will not be allowed to enter the building to visit classrooms or the cafeteria without explicit permission from the building principal.
BRRRR...It's COLD outside! 
With the weather being much cooler please make sure your child(ren) is dressed appropriately for school. Our district's guidelines are as follows:
- Below 50 degrees-coat required
- Between 50-60 degrees-Long sleeves needed
- 61 degrees and over -students choice (shorts are allowed)
WINTER WEATHER:
- Boots, Snowpants and winter jackets are required to play on the snow.
- Also remember hats, gloves and scarves for extra warmth.
- Recesses will be outdoors unless the temperature is below 10 degrees or the wind chill is below zero.
OASD eAcademy Mid-Year Enrollment AND Withdrawal Period
The Oshkosh Area School District is pleased to announce a mid-year enrollment period for the District’s eAcademy, a fully online school for grades K-12. The mid-year enrollment period will take place November 29 through December 10, 2021, at 3 p.m., and will allow students to enroll IN or OUT of eAcademy for the 2021-22 second semester. The Oshkosh Area School District eAcademy is a fully online school for grades K-12. eAcademy is partnered with the Wisconsin eSchool Network, which is a collaborative network of online programs throughout the state of Wisconsin. The program has been developed in collaboration with online learning experts and is based on years of research and best practices for excellence in virtual learning. Students who participate in the OASD eAcademy enjoy all the benefits of being a OASD student, including earning an OASD diploma and participating in extracurriculars, while receiving a customized, student-centered education that meets individual educational and social needs.

Clothing Donations Needed
We are in need of clothing to be used within our building for students who have accidents or spill on their clothing. This is so the student can return to the learning environment much sooner than waiting for a parent to bring clothing for them to change into.
Items we are in need of:
Pants - sizes 4 through Junior small
Socks
Underwear (especially the smaller sizes)
EARLY RELEASE WEDNESDAY'S
Please mark your calendars for the early dismissal dates this year.
School will dismiss at 12:30 and there are NO 4K classes on Early Release Days.

After School Programs
The school day ends at 2:45 and students must be picked up at that time. If you are unable to pick up your student at this time and they are not able to walk home, students must then be enrolled in one of the after care programs that are available. There is the YMCA after school program, which is held in house but run by the YMCA (We do have enrollment forms in the office). The other program is the Boys & Girls club. A bus will pick them up from school and transport them to the club. You can call either the YMCA at (920)236-3380 or the Boys & Girls Club to inquire about either of these options.
WASP
On early release Wednesdays only, Algoma United Methodist Church next door to Read has an after school program from 12:30-2:45. If you are interested in learning more about this you can call our office at 920-424-0172 and let us know the name of the student you'd like us to send the form home with. or you can call the church at 920-231-2800.
We are scheduled to do a Winter concert this year on Thursday, Dec. 16th at 6 PM.
Everything we have heard so far is that we are still allowed to do the concert, with some Covid expectations of course.
We are working under the understanding that if anything in the community changes, we may not be able to do the concert as expected.
